Heritage
Where the road to the coast paused
For many years the Henckert Tourist Centre in Karibib welcomed travellers on their way between Windhoek and the coast. It was a place of Namibian gemstones and minerals, hand-woven carpets from Weaver’s Barn, and African art — shown with the stories of the Erongo region behind them.
That chapter has closed. What it taught — patience with raw material, respect for the people who work it, and hospitality to whoever walks in — carries on in everything the family does today.
